49er Impact
What is 49er Impact?
49er Impact is a microcredential program to help students develop entrepreneurial thinking skills and make an impact with their ideas through integrative and iterative learning. It is open to all UNC Charlotte students of any college and any major. The skills learned through this program are instrumental in assisting students in making an impact with their ideas and can be transferable to any career choice.
This program consists of networking and mentoring opportunities. Students will have access to panels, interviews with community and campus leaders, asynchronous learning modules and in-person workshops – all focusing on customer discovery, design thinking, storytelling, innovation and collaboration. These events, along with other curricular and co-curricular activities, culminate in the Charlotte Venture Challenge, a competition which showcases up to six finalists from the pitch competition.
Included in 49er Impact is an interactive pitch competition held each semester, although students can enter the pitch competition without completing the credentialing program. Participants who had participated in previous CEI programming are also invited. CEI hosts a number of workshops, panels, mentor office hours, networking and other initiatives geared to meet student needs.
