Susan Bunton

Susan Bunton serves as the Member Services and Executive Coordinator for CO-LAB at UNC Charlotte Center City, where she brings more than 26 years of experience within the UNC System and a passion for creating welcoming, service‑oriented environments. Since joining CO‑LAB in August 2025, Susan has served as Executive Assistant to Executive Director Brad Yeckley while leading member onboarding and concierge services, managing expense‑related processes, coordinating daily operations and serving as the first point of contact at the CO‑LAB front desk. Her warm personality and attention to detail help create a positive and professional experience for members, guests and partners alike.

Susan began her career with the UNC System at Appalachian State University in 2000 and joined UNC Charlotte in 2012, where she worked in the Dean’s Office for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, now the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences. In 2023, she joined the Belk College of Business as Executive Assistant to the Dean before transitioning into her current role with CO‑LAB.

Before beginning her higher education career, Susan worked as a hair stylist, a service‑focused profession that helped shape the people‑centered approach she brings to her work today. She is deeply committed to making others feel supported, valued and welcomed.

Outside of work, Susan enjoys horseback riding, basket making and hiking, but most of all treasures spending time with her three children, their spouses, whom she considers her own, and her 10 grandchildren.
