Every semester, there is pitch competition open to all UNC Charlotte students. This semester we are hosting the 49er Impact Credential Program, which is semester long and is celebrating and highlighting its participants with a pitch competition at the end.

We have also opened up the pitch competition to those who were not able to participate this semester but still want to submit a pitch: The 49er Pitch.

CLAS 3000-001: Making an Impact: Ideas to Action

Interested in earning course credit for working on your ideas? Want to learn more about entrepreneurship? Register for this 2 credit hour course and get started in Fall 2022.

This program consists of networking and mentoring opportunities, panels and interviews with community and campus leaders, asynchronous learning modules and in-person workshops – all focusing on customer discovery, design thinking, storytelling, innovation and collaboration. This program will take place all semester. We will be announcing the details for Fall 2022 soon.

The 49er Foundry Incubator Program is UNC Charlotte's student idea incubator program to help students launch and grow innovative ideas and ventures. We have programming, mentoring, pitch competitions to expand engagement of students and faculty in social impact, entrepreneurship and research commercialization. With a new co-working space in PORTAL, student entrepreneurs have a collective, creative  space to work and meet.

Entrepreneurship Certifcate: Belk College of Business

The Undergraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship provides students with an understanding of how to think and act entrepreneurially in efficient and effective ways. Open to all UNC Charlotte undergraduate students, the certificate aims to satisfy the increasing societal demand for skill sets related to entrepreneurship, such as being able to recognize and evaluate opportunities or knowing how to create and communicate a vision.

Ventureprise Launch is designed for both UNC Charlotte students, faculty, and staff as well as community startups. The platform consists of a university program (NSF I-Corps) and a program for community startups (NC IDEA). Ventureprise Launch is best described as a boot-camp for innovators and is designed to challenge participants at every turn.
